Srinagar (J&K): The core committee meeting of the National Child Development Council (NCDC), a national child welfare organization, was held recently, in which World Population Day was observed.
World Population Day is being observed every year on July 11, to raise awareness and sensitize individuals about the challenges and consequences related to global population growth.
The message of this year’s World Population Day was to improve gender equality. “We can fight together for gender equality, as there is no area in today’s society, where women cannot reach, so gender equality should be inculcated in children at an early age,” said core committee member Sudha Menon (NCDC evaluator).
The NCDC master trainer Baba Alexander was also present in the core committee meeting, who expressed his views on World Population Day.
Regional Office Administrator Muhammad Rizwan said that, “awareness programmes should be conducted to create awareness about the increase in population.”
Notably, National Child Development Council (NCDC) is a self-governing national child welfare organization established to promote women and child welfare and ensure child education in India.
