NCDC expresses grave concern over social media misuse 

Srinagar: The core committee meeting of National Child Development Council (NCDC) was held on Monday, in which the members expressed grave concern over the misuse of social media.

 

The members said that, social media network platforms are easy to use and have been attracting the attention of children in particular, which is a matter of grave concern, as the platforms are being misused Nowadays.

 

They further said that if social media is misused or used excessively, it may lead to cybercrime, anxiety, health & other issues, particularly among children.

 

As per the core committee members, there is a dire need to conduct awareness programme at school level, on how to use social media intentionally and safely.

 

“Counselling sessions should also be conducted, so that the social media is used ethically by the children, which will help us in eradicating the cybercrime,” NCDC core committee members said.
