BJP Responsible for attacks, worsening situation in Jammu: Omar Abdullah

NC-INC to form next Govt

Srinagar: National Conference vice president and the former Chief Minister of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah on Sunday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being responsible for the deteriorating security situation in Jammu.

Omar while speaking with the reporters in North Kashmir’s Baramulla, as per KNO said that the rise in militancy, and the increasing number of attacks across regions like Chenab, Pir Panchal, Reasi, Jammu, Samba and Kathua have occurred during the BJP’s tenure.

He said that the situation in Jammu has worsened under BJP’s rule, citing the attacks on Yatris as a notable example of the deteriorating security atmosphere. He said that BJP has failed to provide any meaningful development over the past 5-6 years, leaving them with nothing to show for their time in power.

“They have nothing to sell from the last five years. There’s no visible development anywhere, and instead of addressing the people’s concerns, they are resorting to attacking the National Conference and Congress,” Omar said.

Omar also stated that the National Conference and Congress would come together to form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir, dismissing the chances of any other party gaining power.

In response to the recent incident in Lebanon, Omar urged world powers to intensify pressure on Israel to halt the ongoing violence and the killing of innocents, which has persisted for several years. “The bloodshed, whether in Gaza or Lebanon, must come to an end”.

Omar called on the Indian government, along with other nations, to step up diplomatic efforts to pressure Israel into pursuing peace and ensuring stability in the region.
