KANGAN: Patients and attendants visiting Trauma Hospital Kangan have expressed resentment over what they describe as unfair parking charges being collected even for brief drop-offs and pick-ups inside the hospital premises.

Several attendants alleged that they are being forced to pay Rs 20 even when vehicles remain inside the hospital for only a few minutes to drop or receive patients, particularly during emergency and night hours.
Locals said the parking system should be based on the duration of stay rather than a fixed charge for every vehicle entering the premises. They argued that many attendants, especially those bringing sick patients during emergencies, leave immediately after dropping them and should not be charged the full parking fee.
“People come here in distress with patients, but instead of cooperation, they are being asked to pay parking charges even for a simple drop or pick-up,” an attendant said.
Some attendants also alleged non-cooperation by parking staff and appealed to the hospital administration and concerned authorities to review the parking policy to ensure relief for patients and their families.
They urged officials to introduce a reasonable time-based parking system and exempt short-duration emergency visits from charges.
