Srinagar: The National Child Development Council (NCDC) core committee convened on Monday, with members expressing deep concern over the escalating issue of women’s security across the country. The meeting highlighted the pervasive nature of women’s harassment, emphasizing the need for immediate attention and action.
During the meeting, NCDC members expressed concern over the safety of women at workplace, stating that women’s harassment is a widespread phenomenon affecting all parts of the country.
They stressed the importance of ensuring women’s safety, particularly in the workplace, with a focus on night shift duties. The members advocated for the presence of security guards to provide a secure environment for women employees working late hours.
The committee members acknowledged women’s progress in various fields but lamented the persistent harassment they face. They emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address this issue.
One of the members suggested conducting counseling sessions to identify and address the problems faced by women.
