Tamil Nadu tourist dies after pine tree falls on him in Pahalgam

Anantnag: A tourist from Tamil Nadu died on Monday after a pine tree fell on him in Baisaran area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An official told KNO that the tourist identified as Janarthanam son of Govintha Rajalu of Tamil Nadu was riding on horse at Baisaran and suddenly a pine tree fell on him.

“He died on the spot”, he said, adding that his dead body is lying in the mortuary of PHC Pahalgam.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
