NCDC members express shock over J.S. Siddharth’s death

The National Child Development Council (NCDC) members have expressed shock over the death of J.S. Siddharth, a second-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry student of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at Pookode, who was found hanging in the hostel bathroom on the university campus on February 18.

During the recent core committee meeting, the members said that this was the heartbreaking incident, and expressed their condolences with the bereaved family.

Responding to the news reports about brutal assault, and severe torture to deceased Siddharth, the core committe members have appealed authorities to take strict action against the accused persons.

However, sources said that several accused persons in a case pertaining to the death of Sidharth J.S., have been arrested, while the Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Veterinary University was suspended following the death of a student inside the campus.

As per reports, District Police Chief T. Narayanan had recently constituted a special team for the investigation led by Deputy Superintendent of Police T.N. Sajeevan.

Notably, National Child Development Council (NCDC) is a self-governing national child welfare organization established to promote women and child welfare and ensure child education in India.
