National Child Development Council celebrates World Children’s Day

Srinagar: The National Child Development Council (NCDC) celebrated World Children’s Day, which is dedicated to the voices and dreams of children worldwide.

 

On the occasion, the core committee members of the council talked about the different issues faced by the children across the world.

 

The members said that issues faced by the children must be redressed, while there should be the complete protection of child rights.

 

“Chidren should be given full freedom. They should have freedom of speech, freedom to play, freedom to take decisions good for them, while their rights should be protected, so that they become useful citizens for the society,” Miss Shakila and Bindu Jacob of NCDC said.

 

Similarly, Council’s Miss Sudha has said that the awareness of children rights are important. She said that their life should be filled with happiness, as they are the pure souls.

 

Regional Administrative Officer, NCDC, Muhammad Rizwan on World Children’s Day has expressed his condolences on the loss of Children in Gaza during the war.

 

He also expressed concern over the lack of food for children in some states of India, and said they should be given food immediately.

 

Meanwhile, NCDC Master Trainer, Baba Alexander has said that, “this day is important for us, as we are dealing with children’s rights and their education.

 

He said that parents must play a vital role in giving rights to their children, and believed that if the children are smarter, they will contribute to nation.

 

Notably, World Children’s Day is celebrated on November 20 annually to commemorate the Declaration of the Rights of the Child by the UN General Assembly on the same day on 1959.
