SRINAGAR: During the recent core committee meeting, the National Child Development Council (NCDC) members sought inclusion of physically challenged students in normal schools.
The members unanimously said that, “children with physical disabilities should be allowed to take admission in normal schools, so that they may be able to get education with normal students, which may keep them physically fit.”
They further said that after getting admission in normal scools, physically challenged children should get full support, love and positive response from everyone.
“National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 also recommends equal opportunity in education. Physically challenged children also have right to pursue education with normal kids along with all facilities,” NCDC members stated.
Notably, National Child Development Council (NCDC) is an autonomous national child welfare organization, established to promote the welfare of women and children, besides ensuring education of children in India. https://ncdconline.org/ is the official website of NCDC.
