Srinagar: Around 23 political leaders of Indian National Congress (INC) from J&K took part in an emergency meeting called by the Indian National Congress (INC) President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday in New Delhi, sources said.
They told the news agency CNS that various issues were discussed in the meeting, including forthcoming Assembly Election of J&K; adverse performance of INC during Parliamentary Election 2024 in J&K, MP, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and West Bengal.
“Besides, deliberations were also held on the LS Poll results pertaining to Assembly Constituencies of Gool Arnas, Doda Kishtwar and R S Pura,” sources said.
The INC leaders from J&K who remained present in the meeting, as per sources, include J&K Congress President Vikar Rasool Wani, Ramban Bhalla, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Lal Singh, Ghulam Nabi Moga, Anwar Bhat, Ravinder Sharma, Tariq Hamid Karra, Bhagwan Singh, Tara Chand, Bhagwan Das, Irfan Naqib, Haji Rasheed, Yogesh Sani, Abid Kashmiri, Er. Muzzafar, Surinder Singh Channi, Pirzada Mohammad Syed, Mulla Ram and others.
Sources said that Madhav Singh Solanki was scheduled to visit Kashmir this week for the same meeting, which was later on decided to be conducted in Delhi.
“INC is also mulling over to replace Vikar Rasool Wani from the J&K Unit President’s position with one of the party leaders. Among those in the line are Ramban Bhalla, Tara Chand, Bhagwan Singh, Ghulam Mohammad Mir and others,” they added.
