Historical Mughal road reopens for traffic

Srinagar: After clearance of Snow, the historical Mughal road reopens for traffic on Monday.

“It is hereby ordered that the Mughal Road is opened for vehicular traffic movement w.e.f 8th of April, 2024,” reads the order of District Magistrate Shopian, a copy of which lies Kashmir Scroll.

“The traffic movement on Mughal Road shall be allowed subject to the adherence of conditions that here shall be one way movement of traffic for light motor vehicles only from Heerpora to Pir-Ki-Gali from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, the Sr. Superintendent of Police Traffic (Rural), Kashmir shall establish traffic check post at Heerpora and Executive Engineer, R&B Division Shopian and Executive Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department, Shopian shall ensure availability of machinery at Padpawan for facilitation of stranded vehicles and removal of shooting stones, debris from the road respectively.

“Tehsildar Shopian and SHO Heerpora shall keep a close vigil of all the aforementioned arrangements.” Reads it further.
