GANDERBAL: Continuing its ongoing drive against illegal mining activities, Ganderbal Police has seized five vehicles, including three tractors and two tippers, for unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals within the jurisdictions of Police Station Ganderbal and Police Station Lar.
Officials reported that the vehicles were involved in extracting and transporting mining materials without valid permission, violating established norms and regulations. Acting swiftly, police seized the vehicles on the spot.
The matter was subsequently referred to the concerned Geology and Mining Department, which imposed fines as per the relevant legal provisions.
Ganderbal Police reaffirmed its commitment to curbing illegal mining in the district and appealed to the public to cooperate in safeguarding natural resources. Authorities emphasized that strict action will continue against anyone found involved in such unlawful activities.
