Eid Woes: Kangan Residents Face Cash Crunch as ATMs Remain Non-Functional

KANGAN: Residents of Kangan expressed frustration against bank authorities for failing to keep ATMs functional on Eid ul Fitr, causing significant inconvenience.

Locals alleged that Jammu and Kashmir bank ATMs were either out of service or running out of cash on peak Eid days.

“I waited at the J&K Bank ATM for hours, but had to return empty-handed due to non-availability of cash,” said a disappointed customer.

Another resident questioned the government’s “Digital India” initiative, saying, “How can we access our own hard-earned money if ATMs are not functional?”

Locals demanded that authorities should take strong action and hold bank officials accountable for the inconvenience.

They alleged that two ATMs near Jamia Masjid and Bank Branch in Kangan have been non-functional for weeks and days, respectively.

Residents from nearby areas, including Ganiwan and Mamer, also reported similar issues with J&K Bank ATMs, citing frequent technical snags.

Despite repeated attempts, no official from J&K Bank was available for comment.
