A recent surprise inspection of schools in Gurez, Kashmir, has revealed a shocking truth: 30 teachers, including lecturers and headmasters, were found absent from their posts across seven institutions.

Affected Schools include Boys Higher Secondary School Dawar, Girls Higher Secondary School Dawar, High School Chorwan, High School Achoora, Middle School Chorwan, Middle School Mastan, Eklavya Model Residential School Gurez.
The absenteeism has sparked outrage among parents, who have been protesting against the negligence of teaching staff. Some teachers have been absent for over a year, while others, including headmasters, have been missing for weeks.
Locals have urged Authorities to take action against absent teachers and measures to prevent future absenteeism.
Locals demand similar inspections in other departments, especially in far-flung areas like Tulail and Bagtore.
