Says actual ground situation can be gauged outside Srinagar; “NC not against Women’s Reservation Bill”
Srinagar: National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that the situation is contrary to the claims of the government and that the actual situation can be gauged from the situation in Kokernag, Uri, Rajouri and other places.
Talking to media persons in Budgam, Omar as per KNO said that the situation might be peaceful in Srinagar where administration is busy with Miss World and Golf events, but the actual situation can be determined in Kokernag, Uri and other places.
“We have lost 4 officers in Kokernag and it is the 7th day today and we have not even killed a single militant there so far,” he said, adding that the situation is quite different from the “lies” of the government.
Asked about the solution of the prevalent situation, Omar said let the government accept the problem first, the solution can be suggested later.
About Women’s Reservation Bill, Omar said that NC is not against it as it has itself implemented it in Panchayats and other institutions.
“NC has a separate women’s wing and is not against women’s reservation at all. There will be no setback to NC as it has a number of women candidates across Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
