Srinagar: While celebrating Children’s Day, the core committee members of National Child Development Council (NCDC) have demanded implementation of guidance and counselling in school curriculum.
The members said that there is a dire need to conduct counselling sessions for the welfare of students across the country, as children may come to know about their rights through such sessions.
They said that, “it (guidance and counselling) should be the part of school curriculum, so that students can share their problems with the counsellors.”
“Implementation of Guidance and Counselling in school curriculum is the need of hour, as it will help in making students aware about their rights,” NCDC members said, adding that parents also need to be counselled, so that they also come to know about the challenges being faced by the children.
One of the NCDC members has said that, “Counselling sessions in schools may surely improve the performance of students, as the sessions will guide them to know about their hidden skills.”
The NCDC members unanimously demanded the implementation of ‘counselling’ in school curriculum for the welfare of students.
Notably, National Child Development Council (NCDC) is an autonomous national child welfare organization, established to promote the welfare of women and children, besides ensuring education of children in India. The official website of NCDC is: https://ncdconline.org/…
