Srinagar: As the BJP legislators continued to protest over the passing of Article 370 restoration resolution and refused to settle down, the Speaker Abdur Rahim Rather Wednesday adjourned the House for one hour.
All 28 BJP legislators remained in the Well of the House and refused to take their seats despite repeated requests by the Speaker. “Take your seats and we are going to take part in the discussion on LG’s address,” the Speaker told the protesting BJP MLAs, as per KNO. They, however, refused and instead continued to protest.
The Speaker announced the adjournment of the House for one hour. Earlier, senior NC leader and Deputy Speaker Surinder Choudhary moved the resolution seeking restoration of Article 370 to J&K that was passed with the majority. Two independent MLAs Shabir Kullay and Sheikh Khursheed, three PDP MlAs Waheedur Rehman Para, Mir Fayaz Ahmed and Rafiq Ahmed besides Peoples Conference chief Sajad Lone supported the resolution. The Congress legislators, however, remained silent and didn’t move from the seats.
BJP leaders strongly protested the passing of resolution accusing the NC of running Pakistani and anti-national agenda in the Legislative Assembly.
