The first Western Disturbance is set to influence Jammu and Kashmir from March 15. Under its impact, widespread rain and snowfall activities are expected across the region on 15 and 16 March, with the overall intensity likely to remain light to moderate.

Higher-altitude areas, including Gulmarg and Sonamarg, are likely to receive fresh snowfall. Other high mountain passes may accumulate around 6 inches to nearly 2 feet of snow during the 48-hour period.

Daytime temperatures are expected to drop sharply from late afternoon tomorrow, and could remain 5–8°C below normal on 16 March, leading to a noticeable spell of colder weather.

Meanwhile, two additional Western Disturbances are expected to affect the region from the late evening of 17 March through 20 March. These systems are expected to bring intermittent light to moderate rain or snow showers, rather than a prolonged or continuous spell. Breaks between showers are likely during this period. Any changes on this will be updated separately.

If Eid falls on 21 March, weather conditions are expected to turn mostly dry on 21 and 22 March.
